Jay Turser JTA-40CEQ - Review

Type of Gear: Acoustic Guitars

Brand Name: Jay Turser

Model: Jay Turser JTA-40CEQ

Price: 200

Review - Please try to include as many specific details as you can: This is a 6 string acoustic cutaway in mahogany color. It has a 4 band on board preamp equalizer. Comes tested and stringed with Martin strings. It also comes witha cable (in case you're a first timer like myself).

This is my first purchase (owned another one). For the price that I paid for it, I find that it has a great sound, great action. I like the look and feel of it. It has a satin finish.

I dislike that the guitar does not come with a pickguard. The warranty states that if the guitar is altered in anyway by an unauthorized Jay Turser Dealer, then the warranty is voided.

Before changing the strings, there was only one buzz, on the 13th fret of the 6th string. After replacing the strings, there are now a few more buzzes whenI capo on the first fret.

The electronics on the guitar work real good for what I needed. I often play at charity events where I'm plugged in with a mic and that's all.

As I play this guitar just for fun and recreation, this guitar suits me fine.

Rating (On a Scale of 1-10): 8

Additional Comments/Final Verdict: For my needs and for the price paid, I think this is a great guitar. I would recommend this guitar for people starting out who do not want to spend too much. I feel this guitar would be in the higherend of the lower end guitars.

I would not recommend this for guitarists that play regularly in bands. I would go for higher end guitars in that case.
