Review - Please try to include as many specific details as you can: I have been playing guitar for over 20 years. I play almost every day. I have only owned 2 guitars in all this time, both solid tops. I have always been quite satisfied with the sound of these guitars. I finger pick and "thumb" strum country and country rock. After all these years I decided that I deserved a "fine" guitar. I shopped and tried several "fine" guitars for 4 months until I decided to get the Guild GAD50. I wanted to spend less than $1000 , but I wanted an all solid guitar with the fine appointments. The Guild was it! Solid Sitka Spruce top and solid east indian rosewood back and sides. Bone nut and saddle, rosewood bridge, grover rotomatic tuners, great MOP inlay on the fretboard, mahogany binding, etc. These are the SAME features that were on the $2000+ Gibsons and Martins!! The sound of this Guild is as good, in my opinion as these were, only it cost far less. It has great volume, great sustain and nice clear sounding notes. The construction is much better than any of the Martins in this price range. The "biggies" actually give you less features in this price range than the Guild. It is made in China, but from looking at it closely and listening to the sound of this "fine" instrument, I don't see anyone, anywhere doing a better job. Plus, I'm sure Fender, who owns Guild now, has some of their own quality control people over there over seeing everything. And everything is made to the strict Guild guidelines anyway. You can tell by the appearance, sound and quality materials used. It is Top notch all the way. Plus, I got a great tweed hardshell case for free with the guitar. For the money, you cannot beat this guitar. I love it!
Rating (On a Scale of 1-10): 10
Additional Comments/Final Verdict: There really is a big difference in sound quality with an all solid wood guitar. I strongly recommend it over a solid top only guitar.
