Review - Please try to include as many specific details as you can: After owning a Gibson J-200 and looking for a second guitar with the same full maple sound at a lower price, I found the Gibson EJ-200. I was surprised to find that it is the same guitar (with a pickup) that Noel Gallagher from Oasis uses for live shows and recording - but soon understood why. It gives the same sustainand rich highs and lows that the Gibson jumbo does with a brighter feeling tothe tone and a much easier playability - I thought there had to be a mistake about the price. Since I have purchased the Epiphone, adjusted the set-up and put a bone bridge on, and it is playing better than the Gibson. So traded the Gibson in and paid a little extra to get a 1967 FT-110 Epiphone frontier(Noel`s other axe for songwriting and a dreadnaught I have been aiming at owning for a while). If anyone is considering a Gibson J-200 I highly recommend putting aside your prejudice about the epiphone name being the poor man`s Gibson -the sound is what matters and the Epiphone sounds remarkable with matching volume for 1/10th the price. With the money you save you can go and buy a Gibson J-45. Also, for Gibson fans, I recommend if you are into the vintage sound to check out the 1967 Epiphone Texan and Frontier models - pricey but there is no money that can compensate for the sound.
Rating (On a Scale of 1-10): 9
Additional Comments/Final Verdict: Knockout guitar at a stunningly low price for the quality, sound and playability - you don`t get the bells and whistles you get with a Gibson, but you get the soul and then some. No jumbo can come close to this guitar for the price or even within a price of $2,000.
