Review - Please try to include as many specific details as you can: I've been playing guitar(s) for over 40 years. Did lots of professional gigs throughout most of the '70's and early '80's; since then, an occasional gig, and lots of jammin', and fun sessions with fellow pickers. During that time period I've owned many guitars from a Gibson acoustic 12 string to Gretch Chet Atkins models. Currently I have a 1959 Martin D 18 (I'm the original owner), and a 1999 Fender American Strat. I recently got the bug for a acoustic/electric so I began an extensive "shop-around" to find the best value for the money. Well, after playing most every thing out there, including Gibson, Martin, Taylor,even Yairi Alvarez, I bought the Alvarez PD85SCAV, and the more I play it the more I love it!! It has to be one of the finest sounding, best playing guitarsI have ever encountered. First of all the quality of materials used, and theworkmanship is top notch. The guitar just looks beautiful!! Second, set up isa snap, just take it out of the case and you are ready!! The neck on my guitar was stright as an arrow, and the action all the way up the neck is close to perfect!! You can get some slight buzzing on the high E and B strings after the 5th fret on up if you are too agressive, or if you don't fret the string perfectly, but it is minimal considering the great action you get, and probably more the fault of the player than the guitar. You must be very accurate when you hit full bar chords, and finger from them, or you will get the "buzzer", but all in all this guitar has the best action of any acoustic I have ever played, and it is right out of the box with no additional set up!! Pretty amazing for the price!! The electronics are first class, and allow for many sound options. The built in tuner is a nice addition too!! I didn't think I would use it much, but I find that it comes in very handy. I really can't say enough positive things about this guitar. In my opinion, for the price nothing else comes close in overall quality, apperance, and ease of playing. For anyone interested in a great acoustic/electric guitar you need to check out a PD series Alvarez!! I'm betting you'll agree with me.

Additional Comments/Final Verdict: I really give this guitar a 9.5 rating.. I don't think a 10 rating exists. In 40+ years I've not come across any, but I have played a few that come close, and this Alvarez is one of them!! It's awesome !!!!

Price: 599 Review - Please try to include as many specific details as you can: Best addition to Alvarez ever. Perrrrfect action right from the factory man! Sounds too awesome man! Bassy stacy lows.. Crystal pistol clear highs! Stellar axe man, super stellar axe. You won't ever want to put this guitar down man. When you do have to lay it down.. you'll be thinking about it more than the needle. This guitar will rid your addiction to the needle man, it's that good.
